Reading New Messages with Two-Factor Authentication
With Two-Factor Authentication, you can access a new message notification using two authentication methods. The Open Message button (or notification link) is the first method of authentication. The password you enter to access the Secure Message Center is the second method of authentication.
Note:
You can only use the notification message to bypass the PIN a single time, which will mark the message as read. Once the message has been marked as read, you must always enter your PIN. |
If you access the Secure Message Center without using the Open Message button, you must use the following steps to open the message.
1.
Sign in to the Secure Message Center using your registered Password. The system automatically sends a PIN email to your regular email Inbox. The PIN email contains a Personal Identification Number (PIN). |
2.
Open the PIN email message in your Inbox and view your PIN. |
3.
Return to the Secure Message Center and sign in using your registered Password. |
Note:
Do not close your Internet browser window or the PIN becomes invalid. |
4.
The system prompts you for the PIN. |
5.
Enter the PIN to read the new message. |
Note: If you enter an incorrect PIN three times, you receive a security message and the system locks you out of your account. To access your account, you must begin the identification process again by entering your email address and password on the Sign In page.
